Yanting JIN (金艳婷)
Yanting earned her PhD in chemistry from the University of Cambridge in 2019 under the mentorship of Prof. Clare Grey. Her dissertation, titled 'Understanding the solid electrolyte interphase formed on Si anodes in lithium-ion batteries,' received the Departmental Highly Commended Thesis for 2019. Later she did postdoc in collaboration with George Malliaras at Cambridge, investigating the doping/dedoping mechanism of conductive polymers; and another short-term postdoc at Prof. Peter Bruce's group at University of Oxford, exploring Li-rich cathodes for next-generation lithium-ion batteries.
In response to the challenges posed by the pandemic, she briefly transitioned to a career in quantitative finance in London, gaining extensive coding skills and financial knowledge. Upon her publication of Nature Materials paper in April 2023, she returned back to academia focusing on developing high performance organic electrochemical transistors (OECT) for neuromorphic computing.
